Hi Coddiwomplers!
Well, where did August go? How are you all doing?
As I sat down to draft up this latest rambling, I thought “I haven’t done much, what am I going to write about?” But then when I thought about it and made a list I thought, “eek, this is going to be a bit long!” Thankfully (for you!) I’ve whittled it down to a bitesize chunk!
If you remember from last month, I mentioned I was going to embark on a 21-day Self Love Challenge as we’re always very good at loving others, but we often neglect ourselves. I did this by writing down 3 things I love/like about myself every day. It started off OK for a couple of days, but it got harder and harder as the days went on. Is it because we don’t see in ourselves what others see? Are we too self critical? There’s a lot to think about here and I will work on it but for now I’m happy with the fact that I’m kind, creative, caring, patient (most of the time!), happy, resilient and comfy in my own skin.
I encourage you to have a go at this. Just grab a notebook and write “3 things I love/like about myself” at the top of the page every day for 21 days. Please drop me a message to let me know how you get on.
There’s been much to be grateful for over the last month; firstly, I’d like to offer a huge Welcome to my new Subscribers. I always get the tingles when I see a notification saying I’ve got a new Subscriber and am delighted that our Coddiwomple Tribe is growing.
I enjoyed a fun girly lunch with two friends and was gifted a beautiful set of Affirmation Cards by my dear friend Marion. The deck consists of 44 positive affirmations to empower and inspire you. If this floats your boat, do contact her via her Facebook page Manifesting Joy.
I was also chuffed that my trusty 11 year old car passed its MOT!
Creating a Gratitude Attitude changes your mindset from feelings of lack to feelings of appreciation and thankfulness and is a brilliant exercise to clear negative brain fog. Again, just try thinking of 3 things you’re grateful for when you go to bed or when you wake up in the morning. It can be the simplest of things like “I slept through the night without having to get up for a wee!”
I’ve been a bit quiet on the art front in August, apart from a few practice sketches with watercolour washes with pen & ink. I had a nasty eczema flare-up on my eye which meant I didn’t feel comfortable staring at anything for too long. Thankfully that’s cleared up now and I can get back to it.
Tim and I have managed to fit in a couple of overnight beach camping adventures on the few hot evenings we’ve recently had. I never tire of watching and listening to the sea.

We also fitted in a walk along part of the Military Canal and up on the Downs, near Hythe where we saw Zebra, Giraffe, Ostrich and monkeys! Just a normal run-of-the-mill day out in Kent!

And that was August, over in a flash and September is upon us. This month we have already been on an impromptu trip (more on that next month) and I shall complete my next instalments of our Epic Northern Coddiwomple blog and “Following My Sunshine: “Choosing the road less travelled” blog. I’m also working on updating my website as there’s more going on that just my book these days! It’s also time to change my colours and logo (probably to a sunflower) so watch this space!
I’m also looking forward to a trip to Glastonbury with my Bestie, we’re just polishing up our broomsticks first!
Until next time, have fun, stay well and laugh lots. Thank you all for being here, and if you made it to the end, please comment with the word “Ostrich” (this helps with Algorithms and other techy stuff that I don’t understand!)
Sending much love,
Wxx
