Hello and welcome to this month’s update and ramblings. I’m a bit late popping in this month so but I invite you to grab a cuppa of your favourte drink and join me for a cosy catch-up.
Firstly, I would just like to shout out a huge WELCOME to my new subscribers this month. I'm very grateful and humbled that you are here with me.
How are you? Are you organised for Christmas or do you leave things to the last minute? The only task we completed early was choosing our Christmas Tree ready to collect the weekend before Christmas.
I have to admit that although I love Christmas Day, there is a small part of me that wishes I could just beam myself past all the white noise of the build-up and just enjoy the day.
November is when the dreaded “what would you like for Christmas?” question looms. I’m not big on ‘stuff’, but I would like a potting shed!
What’s going on?! How did this happen?! I would never have thought that I would ever ask for a potting shed! I’m definitely embracing slow living and Hygge.
Anyhow, I’m digressing. Autumn this year has been all about learning to lean into the flow of the seasons and that it’s a time of rest and restoration to replace the energy that the long days of summer have used. Cosy evenings in front of the fire with lit candles and delicious food is my idea of autumn and winter bliss, along with long country walks(I also discovered a Potato Of The Month!). I can feel myself being enveloped in a warm, luxurious energetic hug. Of course, it’s not possible to curl up and hibernate all day every day, it’s important to keep moving and get out and about as there is still so much beauty in the natural world in these darker days.

November has been a month of revelations and surprises for me. I’ve been doing a lot of inner work and that is still being processed as some of the exercises have left me feeling discombobulated, a bit energetically seasick and extremely scared of showing vulnerability, but the strong message has been BE UNAPOLOGETIC FOR WHO YOU ARE and that’s something I wish for all of you here. This journey is ongoing and I will share more with you at a later date.
Something else that’s becoming clearer and clearer to me is that a new book is brewing and my intention for 2025 is to build its foundations. I’m very excited by this as I love the creative process of writing, it’s a proper coddiwomple; you begin by heading off in a purposeful direction but the destination is completely unknown. Watch this space! All I know so far is that it will follow on nicely from my first book “From Cancer To Coddiwomple - A Story of Love, Loss and Daring to Dream” published in 2019.
Storm Bert roared in towards the end of the month and we couldn’t resist visiting the seaside to witness the power of the wind on the sea. They were wild and it was extremely difficult to stand still! I certainly topped up my Vitamin Sea levels.
Creative coddiwomples were few and far between, although I did manage a couple of loose sketches of local landmarks and I upcycled an old, tatty tea tray purchased for £2 from a local charity shop.

Well, I think that’s about all from me today. Thank you again for being here, it means the world to me. If you have made it to the end please leave the word Bert in the Comments!
In the meantime, I wish you a very safe, healthy and joyful Christmas and I will see you all again in January 2025. Remember to take time to refill your own energetic cups, take a few deeper breaths if overwhelm starts to kick in and remember that this too shall pass.
Sending much love,
Wxx
